Leonardo DRS to Expand its West Plains Campus

The company is also building a new engineering development and light manufacturing facility and offices in Bridgeton, Missouri, which is expected to be ready by early 2020.

 “This new facility will allow our growing team to be centrally located and more efficiently manage our operations in West Plains, as well as provide the opportunity to host larger customer meetings directly on campus,” said Aaron Hankins, vice president and general manager of the Leonardo DRS Land Systems line of business. “The West Plains area has been our long-time home, and we look forward to many more years of providing jobs and helping support the economy of the region,” Hankins said.

The Leonardo DRS West Plains management team has been housed in temporary office spaces across from the campus since the area was flooded in April 2017. The previous administration offices were heavily damaged and no longer meet company requirements for efficient day-to-day operations, as the company has seen significant growth in the last few years. The future facility will provide for the centralization of the management team, along with on-campus meeting space and the displaying of products for the customer base. 

 “This is an important initiative and will permit our operations to advance and achieve success for our customer, the region and our company for many years to come,” Hankins said.
