Leonardo DRS Receives Third Defense Security Service Award for Counterintelligence

Leonardo DRS received the 2016award for developing new techniques to identify malicious communications and subsequently, training other defense contractors on how to implement countermeasures. 

These counterintelligence efforts are part of a strong security program within the company that encourage employees to identify and report suspicious activities.  Leonardo DRS is one of only three defense contractors to receive the 2016 award out of a pool of more than 10,000 eligible companies.

The Defense Security Service (DSS) instituted the annual award in 2010 to recognize cleared contractors that best demonstrate the ability to stop foreign theft of U.S. defense technology.  Companies chosen for the award demonstrate a continuous and ongoing counterintelligence program integrated throughout the company and contribute the most to protecting vital national security information.

Cogswell Awards for Outstanding Industrial Security Achievement by the DSS for excellence in the principles of industrial security and exceeding U.S. Department of Defense requirements.
