ARLINGTON, VA, July 10, 2019 -- Leonardo DRS, Inc. announced today that it has been awarded a contract to continue delivering high-speed telecommunications services for rural Alaskan healthcare providers throughout the state. The contract is worth more than $25 million over three years.
The contract was awarded by the Tanana Chiefs Conference, a system of healthcare providers servicing rural Alaskan communities and requiring reliable telecommunications services to enable healthcare staff to provide fast and dependable support to patients. Additional connectivity will continue to build member capacity to exchange health information electronically and engage in telemedicine services.
Under the contract, the Leonardo DRS Global Enterprise Solutions (GES) business unit will continue to operate and maintain resilient fiber optic, microwave, and satellite networks throughout the rural Alaskan service regions. The company continues to support high-quality, secure, and dependable connections for electronic health information exchange.
